When you set out for Itaka
ask that your way be long,
full of adventure, full of instruction (...)

Slowly but surely my website is starting to look real :-)
I managed to setup an email address, thanks to Google all was dead easy :-)
Still learning how to use this blogging platform... Nice thing about it is that I can publish from my phone... like this morning in my bus :-)
Just the best!
My friend Patricia is making fantastic jewelry. For her summer collection 2011 we made a small promotional video. The video was not too useful for her as the entire collection was sold in 2 weeks!
Several timelapse I made from the window of the apartment. I got so excited when I understood how to make them that I was waking up very early to catch the early sun :-)
A wicked ride with the boys in Andermatt. That was just the day :-)
I was in the metro one morning listening to my ipod when I understood that song will match beautifully with the images. No need to heavy metal for skiing movies anymore, Jazz works just fine.
My friend Mikolai convinced us to visit him in South Caucasus to ski in the only ski resort of Georgia. He did organise a fantastic trip for us. TBC
This is a movie I did for my brother about his company. He took over the family foundry and keep alive the tradition since 150 years and 6 generations! The business has evolve a lot since the beginnings and is now specialized in small and medium series of cast iron-pieces for water distribution. More on the website here.
The movie is just above 1:30 minutes and give a flavour of what the company can achieve in conceiving, designing and creating a tailor made manual cover. I was lucky to use a model which is now already installed in a street so I could show the full chain of services and the final product. The music is from a traditional Basque band my father wanted me to use to give a taste for the music from the South-West of France. It gives a nice touch to the video and works well when they play the video at trade fairs in the North of France (although it makes my brother crazy after listening to it a full day :-) )
I have been filming with 2 cameras, my Sony AVCHD and the Gopro. The more I was editing, the more I reduced to the core messages using the text to underline parts of the process.
Jacek needed hands to put new grass in his garden and I took advantage of the nice weather to do a timelapse of the full installation. Lastest news, the grass is growing well!
May 2013, we escaped the eternal winter of Brussels to go to Nice. Excellent choice, already when steeping out of the plane we could smell the flowers and the sweet air! With the car, we visited the French Riviera from Menton to Nice with a small detour in Cannes (2 weeks before the festival, already the red carpet was there!).
I filmed only with the Gopro, very handy when traveling, always in the pocket. On the last day we found a brass band composed of student that were playing in the Vieux Nice. I used one of their song for my soundtrack.
A beautiful trip in Zeeland to start the sailing season. First day was magic with sun and wind .... but second day was very rainy with plenty of rain.
In the movie, I have only put shoots from sunny moments as the contrast with rainy days is not nice. It was my first time with a Gopro on a boat and I really like the wide angle effect on a confine space.
